Open to Cultures – In our own backyard and beyond.

In this day and age ( cliche opening FTW) there are many people who are not 100% (ethnicity) . Many people have mixed ethnicities. I being one, found that is very helpful to be able to have an open mind to different cultures. It is good to travel, it is good to learn, and to see that our world shoud not be so small as we think. It benefits us as a person to understand that there is a world outside of our world .

For example all the steryotypes that people have against one group or the other, is not always true. Most of us know that, however sadly there are still people who believe them.

To learn a different culture takes a person to be humble ,and being able to step in others shoes. If the culture likes to eat certain food that maybe you find “gross” do not look at them like they are someone inferior to you just because they like a food that in your eyes is “gross” , instead know that you are equal to them,both of you are human beings ~. Perhaps if they see what you eat they would think “how can they eay that”! So try to be understanding, they grew up eating this~

Just because someone does not have the same opinions or upbringing as you; does not mean you are inferior or superior to them. This is just my opinion.

It is all a learning experience and now in these days , it is very important that a person can understand other cultures even at work.  For example : If someone where to go to a cashier and pay with a credit card and its their first time to use it , they do not speak the language of the country , and yet the cashier might be having a bad day and get extremely anoyed at the person , in the end making the buyer very uncomfortable .  If the cashier perhaps, (maybe )try to understand that perhaps that person has never used a credit card before, does not speak the language, and that perhaps in their country they never used all this technology it would be helpfu. Of course were not mind readers , we wont know everything, but educating ourselves will help in being more understanding to people  . It is good to educate ourselves to be able to open our eyes, and cherish the world around us.
